Production begins at BP’s Skarv
Oil major BP has kicked off production at the Skarv field in the Norwegian Sea. Skarv, which is offshore the west coast of Norway, has an estimated recovery of around 100m barrels of oil and more than 1.5 trillion cubic feet of gas, according to BP. The field, which will ramp up output in the coming months, is expected to reach around 1250,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day within the first six months of production.
